TV jobs for Rotherham students

ROTHERHAM students will have the chance to see their work on the small screen thanks to a new link-up with a new TV station.

Media students at Rotherham College will team up with Sheffield Live! Television, the digital TV channel for Sheffield, which launched last month.

The partnership between SLTV and the College means that all media students will have the opportunity to show their work on the channel and be given the chance ofwork experience with the community station.

The college’s media curriculum leader, Sara Hall, said: “The partnership between Rotherham College and SLTV is an outstanding opportunity for our learners to gain industry experience and work with a range of media professionals. “Students are very excited about having their work screened on SLTV.”

Steve Buckley, chairman of SLTV, added: “Sheffield Live Television will provide a platform for local talent and opportunities for local media students to be involved, with access to professional equipment and mentors.

“We look forward to working with the media students at Rotherham College, who will help us to deliver the local news and types of programming that our audience has asked for from a new local TV channel.”
