Transformation of Rotherham ‘eyesore’ begins

WORK has started on building on the £10 million transformation of one of Rotherham’s worst eyesores.

Construction of the new Bellows Road complex in Rawmarsh will include demolishing the 1960s Job Lot supermarket building  to pave the way for five new shops in an 8,500 sq ft shopping parade parade.

Caddick Developments will lead the scheme after reaching an agreement with Rotherham Borough Council and developers have already pre let space to Tesco, Heron Foods, Staniforth’s Bakers and Vantage Chemist.

The centre will be completed in autumn to ensure that retailers can fit-out ready for a pre-Christmas opening.
