Motorist arrested after six-car collision in Mexborough

A MOTORIST was arrested following a collision in a town centre which involved six vehicles.

Police were called to Adwick Road, Mexborough, just after 9.45am on Monday (25) after a Citreon Berlingo collided with two parked cars.

As a result of the collision, the Berlingo collided with another car on the other side of the road, a spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Police said.

Another two vehicles sustained minor damage in the incident.

The driver of the Berlingo, a 35-year-old man, was was taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries. No-one else was injured.

The man was later arrested on suspicion of being unfit to drive through drink or drugs.

He has since been bailed by police and enquiries continue.
