Tomorrow's engineers get a taste of industry

A ROTHERHAM company invited students for a tour—hoping to inspire the next generation of engineers.

Manufacturing specialists MTL Group welcomed 12 students from Wingfield Business & Enterprise College on Monday.

MTL announced last week that moving into its new Brinsworth home from Sheffield  would bring more than 100 new jobs.

A Rotherham Investment & Development Office spokesman said: “MTL currently serve core sectors including renewable energy, offshore oil and gas, construction, quarrying, rail and recycling.

“They are an approved supplier to a range of customers including BAE Systems, Bombardier Transportation, Caterpillar, Rheinmetall and Sandvik to mention a few.”

The event  was part of this week’s Global Manufacturing Festival.
