Three arrested on suspicion of child abduction

Police were called at 9.50pm yesterday (June 18) following reports a 14-year-old girl had gone missing from her home in Eastwood.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “She was later found at a property in the Wellgate area and taken to a place of safety, with a Public Protection Order put in place.

“A 16-year-old boy, a 17-year-old boy and a 22-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of child abduction.”

The spokeswoman said the three were remanded in custody today and were being questioned by officers.
