Templeborough power plant takes up three-quarters of Rotherham’s new industrial land
TEMPLEBOROUGH Biomass Power Plant accounted for three-quarters of all new industrial space in Rotherham in 2018.
The £150 million energy centre run by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners generates more than 40MW of electricity — enough to supply 78,000 homes.
A council report on industrial land and floorspace said the plant’s 17,200 sq m made up 74 per cent of new additions in 2018.

Hide AdThe net figure increased by just 6,000 sq m, making a total of 3.1 million sq m.
The report said: “This relatively low increase follows the recent trend seen since 2008 when Rotherham began to see much lower floorspace construction following the UK economic downturn.
