Support group REMA was not part of police boycott
THE Advertiser would like to make it clear that REMA was not part of the British Muslim Youth boycott of South Yorkshire Police.
The protest, which lasted 48 hours, was called on Monday due to a perceived lack of action over rising hate crime.
It was ended after an agreement was reached with MPs and South Yorkshire Police bosses to focus more on anti-Muslim attacks.
REMA is the support organisation for the Black and Minority Ethnic Voluntary Community Sector of Rotherham.
