Strike threat at Rotherham college
LECTURERS at Rotherham’s colleges are expected to walk out on Thursday as part of national one-day strike over changes to pension schemes, jobs losses and pay cuts.
The stoppage has been called by the UCU union which has members at Rotherham College of Arts and Technology, which includes the Rother Valley campus and Dearne Valley College.
It is the first national strike in higher education for five years and the first in further education since 2008.
