Store helps out school breakfast club

A SCHOOL breakfast club is having extra helpings, thanks to a convenience store.

The McColl’s shop on Kilnhurst Road, Rawmarsh, has donated £268.64 to Rosehill Junior School Breakfast Club.

The store raised money through the Making a Difference Locally charity where customers purchase specific products and a percentage of the money goes into a virtual fund for the retailer and shopper to choose a local charity to donate to.

James Lancaster, McColls Retail Group chief executive officer, said: “It really is wonderful that we have raised and donated money for such a local and worthwhile cause.

“We believe it is important to give something back to our customers who support us and help raise money by purchasing specific products in store.

“I hope our customers will continue to support the scheme and we cannot wait for our virtual funds to build up again and to donate to another local charity or good cause.”
