Stolen car driver flees after crash injures two

THE DRIVER of a stolen car fled the scene after crashing the vehicle into bus stop leaving two female passengers injured.

Police received reports of a 4X4 on its roof in Thorogate in Rawmarsh at 8.10pm on May 15.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “It was reported that the driver of the vehicle fled the scene after it overturned and collided with a bus stop.

“Two female passengers sustained minor injuries.

“The vehicle had been stolen from a nearby address earlier in the day.”

South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue were also called to the incident and a crew from Dearne station attended and made the scene safe.

Police are investigating and ask anyone with information to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 1063 of May 17.
