Sprotbrough thief strikes while pensioner lays in hospital

Police are appealing for witnesses and information about the incident on Oak Court which happened between 6pm on Monday and 6pm on Tuesday.

Officers are also seeking information about a break-in at a house on Winchester Way, Scawsby, between 1pm and 2.30pm on Tuesday.

The culprit forced a uPVC door and stole a television, jewellery box, mobile phone and £500 cash.

Police believe the same person tried to get into a neighbouring property via a side door between noon and 2.30pm on the same day.

Any witnesses or anyone who saw anything suspicious in the areas is urged to ring South Yorkshire Police on 101.
