Snakes rescued from Mexborough house fire

SNAKES and a dog had to be rescued from a house after its front door and door frame caught fire.

Investigations are ongoing into the cause of the blaze at the semi-detached property on Chaucer Road in Mexborough.

No one was inside the house at the time but the pet animals had to be rescued. None were hurt.

Smoke had infiltrated into the property.

Fire crews from Dearne and Edlington were called to the house at 11pm on Monday night and spent 80 minutes at the scene.
