Sipping delivery driver sacked

A DELIVERY driver has been sacked after he was caught on camera taking a sip of a customer’s drink.

The driver was dropping off an order from Dinnington’s Door Rack Cafe when he appeared to take a slurp.

Footage from the incident — captured by a doorbell camera — was shared online, with more than 63,000 views.

The shocked customer said: “Do not order from Door Rack Cafe in Dinnington. This delivery man decided to have a drink, or sip, of my drink before handing it to me at my door.”

The Door Rack Cafe’s owners apologised for the October 8 incident, saying the incident was not a “reflection of the cafe” and “appropriate action” had been taken against the driver.

“We send our utmost apologies for what has happened with regards to a delivery incident, over the weekend,” the owners said.

“Please realise this is a delivery issue not a reflection on our cafe itself.

“We pride ourselves on our five-star recent rating, and can assure all of our customers old and new that we have terminated the driver of his duties.

“Hopefully, the matter is now dealt with and we cannot apologise enough for what happened.”
