Ships’ veterans help out at Bluebell Wood

VETERANS from the three HMS Sheffield ships dropped anchor at Bluebell Wood children’s hospice while in the area for Remembrance Day.

The former servicemen and women donated £200 to the North Anston charity before heading to the service in Sheffield.

Beverley Lee, from the HMS Sheffield Association, said: “We were delighted to finally get the chance to come and see the wonderful facilities and meet everyone.”

Bluebell Wood fundraiser Gail Parkin added: “We are so pleased that the members took time out from their reunion to come and visit us. We were extremely proud and honoured to welcome the association.”
