Second-hand toys help raise cash for Bluebell Wood

IF you’re are feeling the pinch this Christmas, an online exchange website could have the answer . . . and you could help sick children at Bluebell Wood Hospice into the bargain.

Caroline Bond, founder of Toy Exchange Direct, says demand for second-hand toys is soaring due to the recession as more parents find they can’t afford new toys this Christmas.

And she’s appealing for more stock.

Toy Exchange Direct (TED) was set up by Caroline Bond to solve the perennial problem of what to do with all those toys that kids have outgrown or grown tired of.

And because Caroline has promised to donate ten per cent of its first year’s profit to Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice en per cent of its first year’s profit to Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, you’ll be helping a good cause too.

Bluebell Wood’s chief executive, Sarah Champion, said: “We’d like to thank TED for their offer to donate ten per cent of their first year’s profit to Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.

“It costs £2.5 million every year to provide care and support for children who are not expected to reach adulthood in the region.

“Our charity receives no statutory government funding, so we rely upon the generosity of the public and of companies like TED to allow us to continue to provide this vital service.”
