Safety-checked bonfires to attend around borough

THE borough council has announced the details of the officially approved safety-checked displays around the area that are also free.

This week’s  Clifton Park display will be on Tuesday, November 4, fair rides will open at 4pm and the bonfire will be lit at 6.30pm.

The children’s firework display starts at 6.45pm and the main firework display starts at 7.45pm.

The Maltby Town Council Firework Display and the Anston Parish Bonfire and Firework Display, are both on Wednesday, November 5.

The Maltby display will be held on the Maltby Manor Field Recreation Ground at 5pm.

There will be children’s activities and a disco, with a Guy Fawkes competition at 5.30pm and the fireworks finishing the night at 6.30pm.

The Anston Parish Bonfire and Firework Display will be at Anston Parish Hall Recreation Grounds from 7pm until 9pm with music and refreshments.

Cabinet Member for business growth and regeneration, councillor Dominic Beck, said: “Everyone loves a good bonfire night and fireworks display and these four displays, all professionally managed and checked, are the safest way to do that.

“It’s great that we can still have these fantastic displays for free and I hope we get as many families as possible out enjoying them.

“Anyone attending the displays are asked not to take along their own fireworks or sparklers and please have a safe and enjoyable evening.”
