Rudston pupils raise cash for charity

Members of a school band in Rotherham are set to perform at Magna in conjunction with Macmillan cancer charity.

The woodwind ensemble from Rudston Preparatory School have already raised £140 when they played at the Tickhill Christmas lights switch-on last week, and they will be showing off their musical skills tomorrow and Saturday at the science centre in Templeborough.

The group is made up of pupils from Year 2 to Year 5 who will be performing a variety of Christmas carols.

Guy Willatt, head teacher of the school said: “We are extremely proud of our pupils and the extra efforts they have put in to make sure that these performances for Macmillan cancer charity are second to none.

“Our pupils are always keen to get involved in charity projects and like to play a role in the local community.”
