Rotherham man to stand trial for murder

David Sindall (34), of Selbourne Street is due to appear at Sheffield Crown Court on Monday charged with the murder of Dean Armitage (49), from Hoyland.

Following an incident outside Mr Armitage's home on Skiers View Road on July 21 last year, Sindall was arrested and charged with grievous bodily harm and burglary.

Mr Armitage was taken to hospital but died on August 9.

A postmortem examination concluded he died from head injuries and the charge against Sindall was later amended to one of murder.

Sindall entered a not guilty plea at his Plea and Case Management hearing in October last year and the trial is listed for ten days.
