Rotherham man faces armed robbery charges after shop raids

A 22-YEAR-OLD Moorgate man will face armed robbery charges at Sheffield Crown Court after two raids on Rotherham shops.

Naseem Ali Nagi from The Maltings is accused of a robbery at the One Stop convenience store on Park Lane, Thrybergh on the night of May 27.

He is also charged with possessing a firearm, which he allegedly used hold up the store.

Nagi also faces charges of attempted robbery and firearm possession at newsagent L & W Beevers on Badsley Moor Lane, East Dene.

He is accused of holding up the store on the afternoon of Friday, May 30.

He appeared at Rotherham Magistrates’ Court on Monday and was remanded in custody until he appears in Sheffield on Monday, June 16.

Five other Rotherham men have been arrested in connection with the two attacks.

They have been questioned and released on police bail until mid-July, pending further enquiries.
