Rotherham community projects win grant boosts

TWO community projects in Rotherham have been awarded almost £20,000 in funding between them.

The Friendly Training Company, based in Parkgate, was allocated £9,890 Awards for Allcash by the Big Lottery to training volunteers with learning disabilities to become travel champions.

This will enable them to travel with other people with disabilities around the borough as part of a bid to reduce isolation, raise confidence and promote independence.
