Rotherham and Goldthorpe businesses scoop awards

The Sheffield City Region Awards 2016, held at Magna on July 7, honoured top-performing companies from around the area.

Goldthorpe-based window-maker Building Product Solutions scooped the Business Growth award.

The firm, which specialises in new-build homes and also manufactures doors, has seen 60 per cent turnover growth in the last year.

Sales director Lynne Darwin was also named in The Manufacturer’s Top 100 list of outstanding employees.

She said: “I am a big believer that if you get the right people, you can do a lot of good things.

“It’s nice to get some recognition for all the hard work that we have all put in over the last year.”

Meanwhile, Parkgate town centre fitness facility Team Katalyst won the award for corporate social responsibility.

The trophy recognised the “continual commitment and development of our young people” carried out by staff since 2011.

Team Katalyst is an indoor parkour course, dance studio and martial arts centre, which works with Rotherham schools to encourage physical activity.
