Red Riding star Morrissey rides into town

FILM fans are in for a treat when acting titan David Morrissey visits South Yorkshire next week to chat to fans.

On Monday, Sheffield’s Showroom Cinema is holding two special screenings starring the actor, best known for appearing in TV drama Red Riding, playing Gordon Brown in The Deal and bringing a brooding presence to The Other Boleyn Girl.

During the afternoon, local school children will have the chance to see David in The Water Horse (PG) and find out more about his experience as an actor and his role in Doctor Who.

In the evening, there will be a screening of Don't Worry About Me, Morrissey's directorial debut feature.

The film is a bittersweet love letter to his home city of Liverpool and a tender tale of boy meets girl.

Following the screening, the audience will have the chance to put their questions to David in a Q&A session hosted by Sheffield-based independent filmmaker, Colin Pons.
