Raid cupboards for favourite childhood game

A CHARITY event is aiming to take people on a nostalgic trip down memory lane and is asking people to raid their cupboards to dig out their favourite childhood game.

The NSPCC’s Really Big Board Game initiative is happening nationwide on May 15 and Victoria Hobson is hosting one locally in East Herringthorpe on the day.

Victoria (47), said: “The East Herringthorpe group, EH on the Hill, alongside my host RotherFed will be hosting our Really Big Board Game day at Springwell Community Centre and we will be inviting communities of interest, local residents, and existing local groups to play a selection of board games such as Monopoly, Scrabble, Logo Game and Frustration.

“We are also asking people to bring a game themselves so there’ll be something for everyone.”

The event will run from noon till 3pm and all are welcome to attend.

A suggested donation of £5 from everyone who takes part will go to the NSPCC.

Victoria added: “The NSPCC’s Really Big Board Game is a fantastic opportunity for the local community in Rotherham to come together.

“We will be handing out information about the NSPCC at the event so hopefully we will be increasing awareness, having fun as well as raising funds.

“I would encourage other people, families and community groups to sign up and help make a difference whilst enjoying some good old fashioned fun.”
