Praise for bus driver who went the extra mile to help lost passenger

A BUS driver has been praised for literally going the extra mile to rescue a lost and confused elderly woman with dementia.

Caring Travis Eden (22) left the cab of his double-decker to walk the 88-year-old home, make her a cuppa and wait for police to arrive.

The woman had boarded Travis’s X78 in Thrybergh, telling him she was lost and could not remember where she lived.

He realised she had dementia and called police who confirmed her address which was further along the bus route.

Travis (pictured) explained the situation to his 25 passengers on arriving in Conisbrough before leaving the bus and walking the woman to her address.

Her son (55) said: “If everyone did one thing as good as this in their lifetime, the world would be a much better place.”
