Post office plans approved

PLANS to move a post office into a convenience store have been approved.

A proposal to relocate post office offices services from Wath Post Office on Sandygate to the Spar shop on Quarry Hill Road Wath, has been rubber-stamped.

The post office in its current location will close on September 22 and re-open within the Spar shop on September 24.

The new opening times will be 8am to 9pm seven days a week.

A Post Office spokesman said: “The new style post office is able to carry out Post Office transactions that typically account for 95 per cent of customer visits. “

Any products that will not be available at the new store are available from the post office in Swinton, which opens from 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 12.30pm on Saturdays.
