Three in court over £2.8m phone scam charges

THREE Rotherham men will appear at court in London today in connection with with a £2.8 million mobile phone fraud.

Imran Rasab (35) of Hooton Lane, Mexborough will appear with Waseem Rashid (26) of Old Clifton Lane and Nadeem Ali (26) of Clifton Lane, both in Clifton.

Also attending will be Cheri Leigh Brown (24) of Sheffield and Nikesh Patel (46) of London.

The trial at Blackfriars Crown Court follows a three-and-a-half-year investigation by South Yorkshire Police.

The four men and one woman are charged with offences including conspiracy to defraud, money laundering and possession of articles for use in fraud.

The trial is expected to last for eight weeks.
