Man in court over Cornwall attack

A MAN charged with violent attacks against a woman and her three young children in Cornwall appeared at Truro Crown Court on Tuesday.

Steven Challands (34) of Purcell Close, Maltby is accused of one count of attempted murder, four of false imprisonment, two of grievous bodily harm and one of actual bodily harm.

The charges relate to attacks at a property in the village of Sennen, committed just after 6am on Saturday, May 3.

Challands was remanded in custody at the hearing, to appear at Truro Crown Court again on September 15.
