Man faces airgun charge over Catcliffe incident

A 22-year-old man has been charged after an air gun was fired in Rotherham.

Thomas Anthony Whiting, of Old School Lane, Catcliffe, will appear before Rotherham Magistrates’ Court next Tuesday charged with a racially-aggravated public order offence and an offence of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear or violence.

Police were called at around 4pm on Wednesday, March 11, following reports a shot had been fired in Old School Lane, Catcliffe.

Nobody was injured during the incident and an air weapon was recovered.
