Man and woman stand trial for Wombwell murder
THE trial into the murder of John Gogarty has begun today at Sheffield Crown Court.
Helen Nichols (38), and Ian Birley (43), both of Mont Walk, Wombwell, are charged with murder and robbery.
The pair deny the charges.
Mr Gogarty’s body was found at his home in Marsh Street, Wombwell, on July 17.
The trial is due to last around three weeks.
