Guilty plea to farmland murder

A MAN has pleaded guilty to the murder of Alan James Easton whose body was discovered on farmland earlier this year.

Stephen Schofield (31) of Windmill Avenue, Conisbrough, was arrested along with

Angela Dowling, (47), of the same address and Matthew Duffy, (22), of Sussex Street, Doncaster in February.

All three were remanded in custody until a trial set for next month but Schofield has now admitted killing Mr Easton (50), of Bonhill, Dunbartonshire.

The body of the victim, who had recently moved to Conisbrough, was found on farmland in Everton, north Nottinghamshire.

Dowling and Duffy will stand trial next month and Schofield will be sentenced after the hearing which starts at Nottingham Crown Court on August 12.
