Police step up patrols after Maltby attacks

POLICE are stepping up patrols in Maltby following a series of violent crimes.

Maltby Town Council revealed today that they had been told mounted officers would be duty and extra foot patrols in place this evening and a police spokeswoman confirmed the arrangements.

It follows the robbery of 80-year-old ex-miner Tommy Ward last month, the rape of a woman in her Grange Lane home last week and the murder of a man in Littlehey Close last Friday.
