Police investigate "stabbing" at Rotherham college

POLICE were called to Rotherham College of Arts and Technology following reports of a stabbing.

Eastwood Lane in Rotherham is closed between the Howard Street and Wharncliffe Street junctions.

A witness claimed that a stabbing has taken place and that the victim was a young male student.

It was claimed that the incident involved a number of youths.

Police taped off the area and diverted cars away from the scene but staff and students were still able to access the college.

A police spokesman said it was called to reports of an "attempted assault" and an investigation has been launched.
