The victim was left with a scratch to his neck, but did not require any medical treatment.

Det Con Rachel Morton said: “I would like to remind members of the public to be aware of their surroundings while walking through parks alone at night, and not have on show or carry in their hands mobile phones or mp3 players.

Parents should also ensure that children and young teenagers are not left alone unsupervised in parks after dark, whether playing with friends or just walking through them on their way home.”
