Peter makes it to Mastermind final

Peter, who lectures in history at Rotherham College of Arts and Technology,will be pitting his wits against the other contestants in the final of Mastermind, which will be shown on BBC2 on April 15.

He won his semi-final by answering questions on his specialist subject of the nineties BBC drama series Our Friends in the North, as well as a selection of general knowledge posers.

His specialist subject for the final was The Life and Career of Frankie Howerd, although he has been sworn to secrecy on the outcome of the programme.

He said: "It was a big shock to get through to the final, but a very welcome one. I was very proud to be in the Grand Final of such an iconic quiz as Mastermind and I went into it determined to enjoy every minute."
