St Bernard's pupils raise £1,260 in memory former classmate

STAFF and students from St Bernard’s Catholic High School have handed over more than £1,200 after taking to the field in a sponsored fancy dress fun run in aid of Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.

The £1,260 collected from the event in February was this week presented to a Bluebell Wood in memory of 12-year-old St Bernard’s pupil Natalie Maw, who died of cancer earlier this month.

Everyone from a chicken to an oversized ballerina to Supergirl made their way around the track during the fun run which involved 450 students.

It is hoped the money will go towards a new teenage space at the hospice which students at the school are keen to help design.

The school are now thinking of making the fun run an annual event.
