Sports matches postponed as cold-snap hits

ROTHERHAM Borough Council has once again called off all sports matches due to take place on its pitches this weekend.

All football and rugby matches due to be played on January 16 and January 17 on pitches run by the council have been postponed following a forecast of sub-zero temperatures.

Forecasters have also predicted snow could fall across the borough over the next few days and frosts are likely overnight.

It is the second consecutive weekend mathces have been called off following heavy rain last week.
