Senior director Karl Battersby leaves Rotherham Council

A SENIOR Rotherham council director is moving on after 12 years.

Karl Battersby, previously Rotherham Borough Council’s head of planning and the strategic director for environment and development services since 2007, is heading west for a post at Wigan Council.

He will take up the role of director of economy and skills at the Greater Manchester town's local authority.

Stella Manzie, managing director commissioner at Rotherham Borough Council, said: “Karl has worked at Rotherham Council for 12 years and has held the post of strategic director since 2007.

“He will be greatly missed but we wish him all the very best in his new role at Wigan Council.”
