Runners race in memory of Kevin

DOZENS of runners turned out for a charity challenge yesterday in memory of a well-known education stalwart who died three years ago.

Mark Robinson (34), organises the annual 10km run with wife Joanne (35), in memory of his dad Kevin who lost a short battle with cancer back in 2009.

Kevin (67) lived in Brinsworth for 40 years and had been involved in education in Brinsworth and the Rotherham areas for over 30 years.

Over the past two years, the race has seen thousands of pounds raised for the Rotherham Hospice and Mark hoped to clock up more cash for the Broom facility with yesterday’s event, which was part of the annual gala at Brinsworth playing fields.
