MP gives Bluebell Wood £3,000 gift

ROTHER Valley MP Kevin Barron has handed over £3,000 he earned as an adviser to an Japanese company to the Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.

The cheque was payment for his work with the Japanese Pharmaceutical Group.

Mr Barron — who ran the 2007 London Marathon for the children’s hospice — said: “The funding of the hospice movement has always been relatively poor from the public sector, so I am happy to help such a worthy local charity.”

Charity chief executive Sarah Champion said: “We are extremely grateful to Kevin for his continued support and recognition of our work.”
