Account director Mark Waterhouse said: “Public buildings are at the heart of every community. We look forward to playing our part in keeping them in great condition.”

Morrison has been responsible for half of the borough’s council homes since 2010 and has recruited 20 apprentices.

Cllr Gerald Smith, Rotherham Borough Council’s Cabinet member for regeneration and development, said: “Morrison put forward a very strong bid. The company has already demonstrated its capability and commitment to customer service through social housing repairs.”
