John's in the pink for Breast Cancer Campaign

A DEARNE VALLEY MP is urging constituents to join him in the fight against breast cancer.

John Healey is promoting Wear it Pink day on October 26 — Breast Cancer Campaign’s annual day to raise funds and awareness.

The event will see supporters from all over the country in schools, colleges and businesses come together to donate £2 and wear the colour that symbolises the work of the charity.

The MP said: “Whether it’s pink socks, a pink skirt, a pink tie or something much more adventurous you can help the charity hit its £2 million target to continue funding ground-breaking cancer research.

“One in eight women experience breast cancer during their lifetime, and around 130 are newly diagnosed every day.

“That’s why we need to back the Breast Cancer Campaign so it can fund research which will one day lead to a cure.”
