Gender pay gap plans welcomed by Rotherham MP

GOVERNMENT plans to address the gender pay gap have been welcomed by Rotherham MP Sarah Champion.

Consultation started this week (14) on measures to force large firms to disclose average wage data for male and female workers.

Ms Champion, who introduced a ten minute rule bill on the subject last December, said: “Being transparent about what people are paid is only the first step.

“I hope the Prime Minister’s change of heart over pay transparency may signal a wider change of policy to properly tackle equal pay.”
