GALLERY: Fun day boosts charity in memory of Stuart Lister

MORE than £10,000 was raised by an “amazing” fun day in memory of am-dram stalwart Stuart Lister.

The Start-a-Heart 24:7 fun day at the Woodman pub in Woodlaithes Village on Sunday was boosted by sunny weather and supported by a bumper crowd of families and charity supporters.

The late Rotherham Rep chairman’s daughter and charity founder Carrie Platts said: “We were blessed with the weather and the community came along to support us.

People of all ages enjoyed the activities, games, entertainment and of course the hog Roast.

“As always we had the support of volunteers who gave their time and energy in helping out with the games and entertainment and we were grateful to local businesses for their generous support.

“We raised an astounding £10,096,96, which will enable us to help communities install defibrillators into 24/7 safe cabinets.

“Thank you to everyone who made this possible & for helping us make the day such a success.”
