Dominic tops the bill at cancer charity night

STAND-up comedy and a five-piece pop band will perform at a fund-raiser for two cancer charities.

The cabaret night at Thurcroft’s Consort Suite on July 1, will boost MacMillan and Weston Park.

The event will feature music group Foxx, which has three front-line singers performing versions of the likes of the Temptations, the Drifters, Tom Jones and Prince.

Comedian Dominic Woodward has performed across the country, recounting his stories about everyday life and the people he has met.

Rotherham residents Pete Oldfield and Jon Earnshaw have been organising the charity night since last autumn.

Weston Park fund-raising officer Helen Gentle said: “Supporting these events makes a real difference here.

“It’s on behalf of our patients that we thank anyone who has helped and supported this fund-raising effort.”

MacMillan fund-raising manager Amy Jukes added: “We raise funds for specialist nurses and doctors who deliver the best in cancer care, build vital care centres and give help and support to those who need it most.”

Tickets are £15, including a pie and peas supper and disco, and must be purchased in advance.
