Cast in gold: Now you can remember lost loved ones with leaf tribute

GOLD, silver and bronze leaves engraved with names of lost loved ones adorn Rotherham Hospice’s eye-catching new Memory Tree.

The fundraising memorial in the Broom Road charity’s reception was installed by Claudia Ashley-Brown of Perspex Angel, over a mural painted by sisters Jennifer and Rebecca Elson.

A ribbon was cut at the unveiling by charity supporter Ann Fitzpatrick, whose husband Malcolm was cared for by the hospice.

Hospice fundraising development manager Sophie Barnett said: “The leaves can be engraved with a short message, a name, date, etc, and we have lots of beautiful engravings up already.

“We also still have an opportunity for the cost of the tree to be covered by either a business or family.

People are more than welcome to contact me if they have any questions and leaves can be purchased via our website.”

The leaves are displayed for two years, after which supporters have the option to renew.

The funds raised by the tree will help the hospice continue to provide vital care in the borough for years to come.
