New bid for Frankie and Benny's

CONTROVERSIAL plans for a Frankie and Benny’s restaurant at Parkgate Shopping have been resubmitted.

And if councillors approve the plans by the 50s food franchise for a restaurant at Parkgate Shopping, there could be a £130,000 windfall for the regeneration of the town centre.

The plans were originally turned down by Rotherham Borough Council in June on the grounds that they would “divert trade and investment” to the retail park.

But now they have been submitted again, only this time the site owners are offering a contribution towards improving the town centre for shoppers.
