More M1 roadworks on the way

MOTORISTS on the M1 are in for another week of delays and speed restrictions as the Highways Agency continues its improvement works on a busy South Yorkshire stretch.

Two lanes will be shut southbound from Wednesday to Friday between junctions 28 and 31, while two lanes northbound will be closed from tomorrow to Friday.

This is to allow drainage and barrier works to be carried out.

There will be narrow lanes and a 50 mph speed limit between junctions.

A spokesman said: “All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.”
