Met Office warns of a tricky morning commute

MOTORISTS have been told to expect difficult driving conditions during tomorrow morning's rush-hour as a band of heavy rain hits the area.

The Met Office has issued a yellow ‘be aware’ warning for Wednesday morning and said up to 30mm of “persistent” rain could fall between 1am and 3pm on Wednesday.

Its chief forecaster said: “Persistent rain, heavy at times, is expected from the early hours of Wednesday, continuing during the morning before slowly easing in the afternoon.

“Accompanied by windy conditions, this rain is likely to produce some flooding and difficult driving conditions.”
