Mencap and Ember Inns team up for quiz challenge

PUB brain-boxes in Rotherham have the chance to win a cash prize for themselves and raise a large sum of money for charity.

PUB GENIUSES in Rotherham have the chance to win a cash prize for themselves and raise a large sum of money for charity.

Ember Inns have teamed with Mencap to take create The Great Ember Quiz a nation wide contest aiming to raise £20,000 for the charity.

The money raised will go toward helping people with learning disabilities.

Staff at the Hind, part of the Ember chain, are keen for it to be crowned Britain’s brainiest pub.

The winning team will win £4,000 and runner-up will receive £2,000 and most coveted of all the title Champions of The Great Ember Quiz 2011.

The first heats will take place thoughout March in 135 towns, the highest scoring times of each town having to face off against each other.

The top 11 teams will then compete against each other at the national final on Saturday, May 14 hosted by an as-of-yet unrevealed celebrity.
