A WOMBWELL man has been sentenced to 28 days in prison for theft and possession of a class B drug.
Matthew Wiggett (26), of Washington Avenue, was found carrying eight grammes of cannabis when searched by police, as well as toiletries which had been stolen from a charity bag outside the Barnsley Animal Rescue Centre charity shop in High Street, Wombwell.
He appeared at Barnsley Magistrates Court on Monday 4 January where he was sentenced to 28 days in prison.
